Jesus: a Prophet so He is Not God?

MUSLIMS try to deny the divinity of the Lord Jesus by insisting that He is ONLY A PROPHET.

They are MISTAKEN. That's because they do not know what a PROPHET IS.

The Lord Jesus is a PROPHET and He is GOD. There are no contradictions.

HOW TO RESPOND:

A. QUICK RESPONSE:

A prophet is a spokesman for God. He brings God's words to men.

The Lord Jesus, as God the Son, acted as the spokesman of God, His Father.

John 14:24
"... the word that you hear is not mine, but is from the Father who sent me."

He is the perfect prophet because He does not only bring God's word to men, the Lord Jesus is HIMSELF the WORD OF GOD.

John 1:1, 14
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

"And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father's only son, full of grace and truth."

B. LONGER RESPONSE:

A prophet is a spokesman for God. The Lord Jesus, who is God the Son, acted as the spokesman of God, His Father.

John 12:49
The Lord Jesus said, "for I have not spoken on my own, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment about what to say and what to speak."

John 14:24
"... the word that you hear is not mine, but is from the Father who sent me."

Notice that the LORD JESUS SAYS that it was HIS FATHER who SENT HIM.

Since GOD is HIS FATHER, then HE IS THE SON of GOD. Therefore, the LORD JESUS is GOD; for the SON takes the NATURE (DIVINITY) of His FATHER.

While Muslims feel comfortable citing texts from the Bible if they feel it suits them, they avoid texts where the Lord Jesus declares that God is His Father. That will cause all their claims and arguments to fall.

.
A prophet brings God's words to men.

The Lord Jesus is the perfect prophet because He does not only bring God's word to men, the Lord Jesus is HIMSELF the WORD OF GOD.

John 1:1, 14
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

"And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father's only son, full of grace and truth."

It is apparent that in Islam, ONLY MEN can BRING GOD'S WORDS to MEN, which is RIDICULOUS.

They are in effect saying that GOD CANNOT BRING HIS OWN WORDS to MEN. Such a belief is simply RIDICULOUS.
