A MUSLIM, Zafar Khan, claims that Islam’s prophet was prophesied by the Lord Jesus. He gave the following verses as proof of his claim.
"There is so much more I want to tell you, but you can't bear it now. (John 16:12 )
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. (John 16:13 )
He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. (John 16:14)
Is Khan correct?

CLAIM WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING
MANY Muslims use Biblical texts WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING wha tthe verses really mean.
For one, they WRONGLY CLAIM that JOHN 16:12-13 foretells the coming of their PROPHET MUHAMMAD. That is FARTHEST from the TRUTH.

A. WHAT THE VERSES MEAN:
THE verses given by Zafar Khan DO NOT REFER to ISLAM’S PROPHET MUHAMMAD, but to the HOLY SPIRIT.
a. JOHN 16:12
"There is so much more I want to tell you, but you can't bear it now.”
The Lord Jesus is telling the disciples that they could still not understand DIVINE TRUTHS without DIVINE GUIDANCE and HELP.
And that is the reason for the next verse.

b. JOHN 16:13
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
THE Lord Jesus is TALKING to HIS FOLLOWERS.
He is saying that even if a person has expressed belief in the LORD, that does not mean he AUTOMATICALLY UNDERSTANDS DIVINE TRUTHS. He would need the GUIDANCE and HELP of the SPIRIT OF TRUTH, the SPIRIT of GOD—the HOLY SPIRIT.

* In the original Greek, the word used for SPIRIT is“PNEUMA,” which means wind, breath, spirit. It is NOT a PHYSICAL ENTITY.
This PNEUMA or SPIRIT will be the SOURCE of the POWER that HUMANS will need to UNDERSTAND DIVINE TRUTHS.
ACTS 1:8
“But YOU WILL RECEIVE POWER when the HOLY SPIRIT has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem,in all Judea and Samaria,and to the ends of the earth."
It is the HOLY SPIRIT that will GUIDE HUMANS, specifically the FOLLOWERS of the LORD JESUS, in ALL TRUTH.
That is why CHRISTIANS RECEIVE POWER to UNDERSTAND the TRUTHS ABOUT GOD, like the HOLY TRINITY.

2 IMPORTANT FACTS IN THE VERSE:
THE SPIRIT of TRUTH will GLORIFY the LORD JESUS.
It is the LORD JESUS who would GIVE the HOLY SPIRIT what He will SAY.

B. MUSLIM’S WRONG UNDERSTANDING
Many MUSLIMS say that JOHN 16:12-14 talks about their PROPHET MUHAMMAD—that the Lord Jesus Himself had “prophesied” his coming.
But KNOWING the RIGHT MEANING of JOHN 16:12-14 PROVES thatthe CLAIM of MANY MUSLIMS is WRONG.
a. JOHN 16:12
"There is so much more I want to tell you, but you can't bear it now.”
THIS CANNOT be about ISLAM’S PROPHET.
It is the LORD JESUS that has SO MUCH MORE to TELL His followers. Muhammad is NOT the LORD JESUS, so ISLAM'S PROPHET CAN’T BE the ONE to TELL PEOPLE ANYTHING.

b. JOHN 16:13

The text says that the SPIRIT would be coming.
MUHAMMAD is NOT a SPIRIT. He is a PHYSICAL BEING. So, HE CANNOT BE the SPIRIT of TRUTH in John 16:13.

The Spirit of Truth will speak of “WHAT HE HEARS.”
Hear from whom?
The LORD JESUS CHRIST.
JOHN 16:14
The Lord Jesus said, “He (SPIRIT OF TRUTH) will glorify me because it is FROM ME that he will receive what he will make known to you."
MUHAMMAD NEVER HEARD ANYTHING from the LORD JESUS. And the LORD JESUS NEVER GAVE ANYTHING to MUHAMMAD. So, Muhammad is NOT the SPIRIT of TRUTH in John 16:13.

2 KEY POINTS:
1. MUHAMMAD NEVER GLORIFIED the LORD JESUS. He even TOOK AWAY the DIVINITY of the LORD JESUS and DECLARED HIM only as a MERE SERVANT OF GOD.
2. MUHAMMAD NEVER RECEIVED ANYTHING from the Lord Jesus. The Lord Jesus NEVER GAVE ANYTHING to ISLAM’S PROPHET. THEY NEVER MET. So, MUHAMMAD is NOT the one TALKED ABOUT in John 16:14.

C. CONCLUSION
The CLAIM of many Muslims that the Lord Jesus prophesied the coming of their PROPHET MUHAMMAD in John 16:12-14 is simply FALSE.
The verses DO NOT POINT to ISLAM’S PROPHET, but POINTS tothe HOLY SPIRIT, which the disciples received according to ACTS 2:1-4
ACTS 2:1-4
"When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place.
"And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.
"Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them.
"All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability."
In short, the SPIRIT OF TRUTH had already COME to the DISCIPLES of the LORD JESUS LONG BEFORE MUHAMMAD APPEARED; some 600 YEARS EARLIER.
Muslims should NOT ASCRIBE to their PROPHET what is NOT HIS.
